AXEL BRAUN AND VIVID WILL SPOOF ELVIS, THE BEATLES AND THE RAT PACK -- Axel Braun and Vivid Entertainment have added to the production lineup for new XXX parodies that will spoof Elvis Presley, the Beatles and the Rat Pack. First up is Elvis XXX: A Porn Parody, scheduled for production in November so it will be in stores by January 8th,  Elvis' birthday.  Says Axel, "I'm a huge Elvis fan.  Elvis had a great sense of humor, so I'd like to think he would actually have plenty of fun watching my movie spoof." Dale DaBone (coincidentally also born on January 8) will play Elvis and sing two songs.  Andy San Dimas will play Priscilla Presley. The Beatles XXX will show the Fab Four throughout their career and will include fictitious interviews with friends and family. The Rat Pack XXX , to be shot in early 2011, will unfold over a late night, booze-fueled poker game between Frank, Sammy, and Dean as they reminisce about their lives. In announcing the new production schedule, Vivid founder/co-chairman Steven Hirsch said, "Axel has a true gift for parody and we are delighted to be working with him on distribution of his movies. Because he is also a fan, he makes sure that his movies are of the highest quality."  The new titles complement Braun productions already scheduled for 2011, such as the highly-anticipated Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody, and spoofs of the popular TV shows Law & Order, Starsky & Hutch, and The Addams Family, as well as movie classics Grease and Clockwork Orange.

BATMAN XXX GETS A SERIOUS (AND FAVORABLE) LOOK IN PORN VALLEY VANTAGE – Dr. Chauntelle Anne Tibbals has begun a series of essays called Porn Valley Vantage – Critical Commentary on the Adult Film Industry, on the recent success of adult parodies of iconic cultural staples.  In her review this week of Batman XXX: A Porn Parody, Dr. Tibbals says the Axel Braun production “operates at a different level” than other parodies out today, and she concludes:  “let me tell you, Batman XXX is awesome.  The costumes are great, the credits and transitions are amazing, and all of the main characters are perfectly played. I mean seriously, check out this trailer.”   Dr. Tibbals says the movie includes plenty of “hyperbolic onomatopoeia-based battles” among “some sassy porno-takes on the series’ patented camp.”

THE CONDEMNED IS A ROG REVIEW PICK – The Condemned, the newest B. Skow release from Vivid, gets an A-rated Rog Movie Pick nod on RogReviews.com. Reviewer Roger T. Pipe says, “We have seen B. Skow do some great work for Vivid over the last few years. His Brand New Faces series is one of the best new girl lines the industry has to offer. This is his first really big feature and certainly his darkest effort to date. It stars Vivid’s hottest contract starlet, Nikki Jayne as a former professional boxer turned underground fighter.”  Roger adds, “The sex scenes are very good and even when the story gets a little dark, the women are gorgeous and the heat is impossible to miss. This is a very solid feature in every regard and certainly not a movie you will forget any time soon.”
