TRISTAN WINS AT THE FEMINIST PORN AWARDS IN TORONTO -- Vivid-Ed director Tristan Taormino won two awards at the 5th Annual Feminist Porn Awards (FPA) in Toronto on April 9th. The Expert Guide to Anal Pleasure for Men won for Hottest Sex Education Film; in addition, she was honored for her decade in the adult film industry with the prestigious Trailblazer Award for Lifetime Achievement in Feminist Porn. Canadian columnist and author Josie Vogels presented the Trailblazer Award, commenting, "In an industry with an incredibly high turnover rate, it is remarkable when someone can sustain a ten year career while simultaneously continuing to stay true to her intentions and expand the scope and impact of feminist porn. A trailblazer makes way for others to follow and opens up new opportunities for people attempting to forge their own path through similar avenues. In feminist pornography, one name evokes an understanding of art, of advocacy, of education and of quality - Tristan Taormino." Tristan said she was "honored and humbled" to receive the awards. In accepting the award Tristan thanked "Steven and Marci Hirsch and everyone at Vivid Entertainment, Nina Hartley and Ernest Greene for their friendship and support, my amazing production crew and editors and all the fantastic performers I've worked with over the years." She won previous FPA "Emma" awards (named for feminist godmother Emma Goldman) in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

AVN PROFILES LIA - AVN reports that Vivid Girl Lia will do her first boy/girl scenes soon. A profile of Lia by AVN editor Dan Miller carries the headline: "Lia Goes Hardcore for Vivid." Miller reports, "Lia's next movie to hit the street is called The Rush in which she works with guys for the first time, doing a boy/girl/girl with Jerry and a Hungarian starlet and a boy/girl with Billy Glide. 'It was awesome,' Lia says. 'I like guys better personally, I feel a lot more comfortable with guys. When it comes to the guys when you watch their films they come across as these machines, so strong and kind of intimidating. But when you get to meet them and actually start working with them I felt like it was me and them against everybody. And they couldn't be nicer, it was very impressive. They kind of take control. Billy Glide was really nice, more concerned about me, always in my ear.'" Miller also writes, "Lia is a skilled golfer who grew up around the golf course and formerly worked in an administrative position at an exclusive golf club in the Phoenix area. 'I was hitting balls at night with my coach and trying to play tournaments on the weekend," she recalls. Now she admits she no longer has a lot of free time to work on her game. She took a break from shooting her latest movie, Wet Sweaty Boobs, for this interview. 'That's the working title. It was my idea, the sweat idea. It's a feature... And we're doing another one, Lia's Life, which is like a day in the life of me, POV style.'"

SHAUNA'S SEX PARTNER MAKES A CLAIM - According to TMZ Antoine Berlier, Shauna Sand's partner in Shauna Sand Exposed claims that he should have earned "massive profits" from distribution of the sex video by Vivid Entertainment. TMZ reported this week that Berlier is filing suit. TMZ notes that "in the self-aggrandizement department Berlier claims he was of 'enormous value' to Vivid, and not only because of 'natural attributes.'" In the "not so fast" department, however, TMZ reported the next day: "Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch tells TMZ, 'We have a signed, model release and this footage will continue to be sold.' Hirsch also says Berlier knew what he was signing and Vivid has the video to prove it -- of course."
