AN EARLY X-MAS FOR ADULT FANS:

TERA PATRICK BECOMES A VIVID GIRL –

One of the most popular adult stars of our era, Tera

Patrick, has become the newest Vivid

Girl. Tera’s film production company,

Tera Vision, signed an exclusive

two-year contract with Vivid Entertainment

Group under which she will star in at least

three films, beginning early in 2004. The 5'9"

Tera is a former international fashion model who has

won numerous honors for her adult film work including

the AVN Award for Best New Starlet

in 2000 and the Hot d' Or Award for

"The Best New American Starlet" at the 2000

Cannes Film Festival. She has also

hosted the popular “Nightcalls 411”

program for Playboy Television, had

a show on K-SEX and has been on dozens

of mainstream entertainment shows. She will also be

seen in an upcoming reality TV show tentatively titled

“Vivid World,” which

is being produced by World of Wonder.

VIVID GIRLS COMIX LAUNCHES IN

JANUARY – The debut issue of “Vivid

Girls Comix” – a graphic novel

series from Vivid Entertainment –

hits the stores in January. The 48-page adults-only

comic book was created by Avatar Press,

and the series is expected to become an instant collectors’

item. Volume One includes stunning full-color

cover art by Dave Nestler and features

stories by Steven Grant and Antony

(“Courtyard”) Johnston with original

art by Juan Jose (“Robocop”) Ryp,

Marco Turini and Carlos Fernando.

Vivid Girls Volume One will be available

worldwide in January 2004 at comic stores and adult

retailers, after launch festivities in Las Vegas at

the Adult Entertainment Expo. Preorder and online

KEEPING IT REAL; STEVEN HIRSCH

SPILLS VIVID’S SUCCESS SECRET: Vivid

co-founder and partner Steven Hirsch

was featured in a profile December 17th on the CNBC

program “Leaders With David Faber,”

and he revealed some of the secrets of Vivid’s

success over the years. “From the beginning,

it was very important to us to make real movies,”

Hirsch said. “I didn't want to be the guy who

made the movie that was sex scene after sex scene

after sex scene. That's just not what we do."

Faber told his audience that the formula seems to

have worked, since “Vivid created a niche that

has grown into an empire.” Another key to Vivid’s

success has been the Vivid Girl concept, Hirsch said.

“We're in a very competitive business. There

are probably 100 producers out there who are making

adult movies. But right at the beginning we decided

that we wanted to have exclusive girls. That way we

could focus our marketing dollars on these girls.

And that way we started to get some loyalty to the

brand. Because its all about the brand." Others

interviewed on the program included Vivid

Girls Jenna Jameson and Savanna Samson,

the publisher and editor of AVN Tim Connelly,

and David Amsden, a reporter for

New York Magazine.
